Our team travelled to Schinoussa with the aim of improving the lives of stray animals across the Small Cyclades. Every place we visit presents a new challenge, filling us with both anticipation and excitement as we strive to bring relief to animals and local communities and promote the hope of harmonious coexistence.

Volunteers from Iraklia, Koufonisia, and Schinoussa joined forces and successfully collected 242 stray cats, which were spayed or neutered and received veterinary care from our team. Over the course of three and a half days, our two veterinarians worked tirelessly to provide these animals with essential care and a better quality of life.

This initiative is not simply about numbers. It is about lives being changed.

Every spay or neuter procedure represents much more than a medical intervention, and every number represents an animal whose life can change for the better.

We would like to sincerely thank our volunteers, Leila, Adele, Lambrini, Stavroula, Kia, Donatella, Silvia, Christos, and Eleni, for their invaluable support in collecting and caring for the animals. We are equally grateful to our two veterinarians, Christos and Marilou, for their professionalism, dedication, and continued commitment to our mission.

A special thank you goes to Nikos Nomikos, Deputy Mayor of Schinoussa, whose involvement was one of the most encouraging experiences we have had throughout our work on similar initiatives. His contribution demonstrated what local authorities can achieve when the people representing them have empathy, determination, and a genuine vision for improving the lives of all living beings in their communities.

We would also like to thank @marsglobal for supporting our work and Royal Canin Greece @royalcaninhellas for its valuable contribution.

We left this beautiful island with great joy and optimism, renewing our promise to return and complete what we started. Our commitment remains firm: to ensure that every last kitten recorded during our visit is spayed or neutered. We will be back to see that promise through.
