LONA (reserved)
When Lona first arrived at the shelter, she was still a puppy. And yet, she looked old. A baby who had been forced to grow up too fast. Her body was small, her eyes tired. She had been sick, she had gone hungry, and it felt as if she had already lived more than she should have.
Little by little, though, something began to change. As she recovered and grew stronger, it was as if time started moving backwards. She began to run, to play, to enjoy herself, to do the things puppies do when they feel safe and have no reason to worry.
Today, Lona is a social and affectionate young dog, with a way about her that makes you smile again and again. Nothing about her reminds you of the dog she once was. She loves walks, human company, and play, and she has that childlike lightness that makes you forget how exhausted she once seemed. Her mood is consistently positive, her joy easy to notice. She’s the kind of dog that reminds you why effort is worth it.
What she needs now is simple. A home, a person, and a daily life that allows her to keep being who she is today. A happy, carefree dog.
Batida (reserved)
Batida had come for spaying when we were at our 8th action in Filippiada in 2023, and she would dance inside the crate every time she saw us, happy and dancing even more.
She was a tiny little dog that we would take out of the crate for a bit, and she would dance around the room with all the mischievousness and charm you can imagine. We couldn't leave such a dog on the street again, so of course, she came with us to Athens.
She continued to dance at the shelter and gives kisses and cuddles to everyone, both people and dogs.Batida was adopted quickly, but unfortunately returned after two years. We don't want to mention the reason as it concerns very personal family matters. She was returned to us in tears, and it was a very difficult decision made for the dog's well-being.
Batida is a wonderful little dog, truly wonderful.
She is excellent at home, she is clean, incredibly sweet, affectionate, and carries within her the joy of the world.
Not the overwhelming kind of joy, but the light-hearted joy that makes you want to spend time with her.She truly deserves to find again what she has lost. She is incredibly social and friendly with all dogs and all people, and she loves with all her being.
Napoleon (reserved)
Okay fine, you can't imagine what a love this is. We fell in love with him from the first moment we saw him, when he was a tiny baby, with mange and sparse hair and a serious, heavy, and unbearable expression.
For his name, we asked on social media for suggestions, and Napoleon was proposed two or three times. The second most suggested name was sea urchin, but we didn't understand the resemblance to a sea urchin, really!! The black, stretched hair around his head didn’t remind us of anything at all!
Napoleon recovered, grew up, got vaccinated, and is ready for a forever home.
His demeanor, heavy and burdensome, shed off from the very first week, and in its place came a smile that has stayed. In most of the photos, he is smiling because he is generally a cheerful dog.
We try to use his name whenever it's appropriate and correctly, but it spontaneously comes out that we call him 'Boulis.' BECAUSE HE IS A BOULE.Firstly, he is round. Very round.
Secondly, he is somewhat innocent. On his own, he does not easily take initiative; he usually mimics. If another dog runs, he runs too. If we walk, he walks too. On his own, if he had to choose, he would obviously spend the whole day lying down.
He is generally a heavy type, not in character, but in body and energy. Of course, he is a puppy, and will be happy and play like a puppy, but it already seems that he will become a dog that gets a bit bored and has moderate energy.
With his rich fur, round belly, and fluffy head, he normally looks like a teddy bear. You want to laugh, you want to hug him, you want to grant him all his wishes, you want to turn back time every week, so you can enjoy this age as much as possible, over and over again.
