Koula (from 'Gekoula,' which a typical Greek name for all those black and tan hounds that are common i Greece, and is what we called her in the first few days and the name stuck) came for spaying during the spay-neuter campaign we held in October 2025 at the shelter.

She was one of the first dogs that arrived, and her little face in the crate left an impression and became the background of all the comings and goings during those days, because she was in one of the front spots and we constantly passed right by her.

She seemed tiny to us. And when they took her for spaying and we saw her asleep on the table, she seemed even more miniature.

And just as she was, small and somewhat sad-looking, on the day of her return, completely spontaneously, as we took her out of the crate, we picked her up and instead of taking her to the truck, we placed her in a cage and she stayed with us.

She is sweet, tender, a little insecure and confused, but each day she opens up more and enjoys her new life, which we hope will be temporary and that she will go to a forever home very soon.
