She is such a sweet cat that we searched and searched for a name that would somehow reflect the sweetness of her manners and her soul, and Melissanthi suited her perfectly.

She was found when she was just three months old, probably hit by a car, although we are not entirely sure. She had a huge diaphragmatic hernia, wasn't eating or drinking water, she just sat in a corner, inside a storage room of the people who picked her up from the street.

She was operated on immediately, and the entire veterinary clinic fell in love with her. The doctors and staff were looking and asking each other if someone could adopt her. She was such a good little cat, gentle and kind-hearted, that despite the pain and stress of the surgery, she was kneading with her paws and rubbing against every hand that entered her cage.

Melissanthi is an incredibly sweet cat that we cannot leave on the street. After two surgeries, so much time in a protected environment, and seeing how sweet she is, we cannot risk reintegrating her somewhere where she won’t be safe.

After all, she is a very sweet creature, and she deserves a home.

The photos do her a disservice, as perhaps does the first impression when you first see her, because she doesn’t rush to you for pets; she just circles around you and stays discreetly and companionably by your side.
