A total of 229 animals were spayed and neutered during the four-day campaign held at our shelter over the past few days.
This initiative brought us great joy and relief, as it gave us the opportunity to offer the animals in our community the chance of a better life.
A life free from mating-related roaming and fights, repeated pregnancies, and the struggle of caring for their young. Puppies and kittens that would otherwise be born with an uncertain future, unwanted and homeless, deprived of even the most basic necessities and with little chance of survival before they had even taken their first steps.
Together with an amazing team of veterinarians and volunteers, we spent four demanding but incredibly rewarding days, filled with a sense of accomplishment and happiness for every single animal we were able to help, care for and treat as one of our own.
A very special thank you to Phaedon and Giorgos, to Alexandra for coordinating the entire effort, and to the Municipality of Oropos animal collection team, who spent weeks working alongside us across the municipality, identifying packs, shepherds and animals in need, while also playing an essential role in their collection and return to their familiar environment.
We would also like to thank everyone who shared our vision and belief in this effort and actively contributed to making it possible, as well as @blackanddecker.gr for their invaluable support.
Our mission does not end with the conclusion of a four-day campaign. It began a month ago and will continue tirelessly until every animal identified during this effort has been spayed or neutered.
