Spaying and neutering are among the most effective tools for protecting animals and improving their quality of life. They are acts of prevention, responsibility, and respect. This is why they are a fundamental part of the initiatives we carry out across Greece, always working alongside people who understand the specific needs of each area.

One of these initiatives takes place at the Malakasa Refugee Reception Centre. People living or working at the facility, along with our volunteers, alert us whenever animals need assistance. We then coordinate with all relevant parties and organise targeted interventions, aiming to stabilise the animal population and improve everyday living conditions for both animals and people.

We have visited the area on several occasions, spaying and neutering more than 100 animals, while also providing veterinary treatment and care to over 40 animals that required hospitalisation and ongoing monitoring, as their recovery often takes time.

Every spay and neuter initiative, regardless of who carries it out, is a step in the right direction. Managing animal populations is essential to ensuring animal welfare and promoting harmonious coexistence with local communities. That is why such efforts deserve continued support and encouragement.
