We are searching for words to describe him, and we have none.
He lived somewhere on the street, outside a camp. He lived the life that dogs like him live, where one day follows another without purpose, without company, with loneliness—boundless and absolute loneliness. He came to us for medical care because his old legs had given out, were tired, and he could no longer stand.
With supplements and treatment, he stood up again.
And how could we let this dog return to the street, where he sees a human and goes right up to them, burying his snout into their chest, wanting nothing but affection. Nothing else.He is not crazy about food or anything else.
Once, a volunteer gave him a piece of pizza, and he didn’t eat it, he just followed the volunteer around. When the volunteer offered the piece of pizza again, he still didn’t eat it, and again followed, until finally, after receiving the pets and the connection he wanted, he ate the pizza, as if that piece of food first had to be 'baptized' with love so that he could taste and enjoy it.
It is a wonderful animal. There is no dog more tender, more calm, and sweeter.
Alexandros adores people. He adores them gently and sweetly; he approaches softly and calmly as if he were a piece of cloud coming closer, sits beside you, and almost wants to merge with you. Into your embrace, into your being, to become one with you. He is exceptional with all other dogs. Calm and gentle, he doesn't bother them and isn't bothered by whatever they do.
He has such gentle energy that when he goes out into the yard, he doesn't bark at any of the dogs in the cages, none of them get disturbed. A sense of calm prevails wherever he is, as if it flows from his body and soul and spreads to everything and everyone around him. We said we were at a loss for words, but eventually, we found some.
We wish we had more words, we wish language could express what the soul feels when it is close to such an animal. So perfect, so wise.
Alexandros will become the perfect pet. He deserves a home and a person of his own, and we will do everything in our power to help him find what he deserves.
