Willie is a very sweet and sensitive baby, who experienced the worst side of life at his most tender age.

He was hungry, in pain, left alone, forgotten and incredibly frightened in the municipal kennel of Tripoli, forced to manage the panic, the barking, and the hundreds of adult dogs around him.

The first time we fed him was like he had never eaten before and he fell headlong into a huge bowl, trying to defend his food from the other large adult dog that was in the same cage. We took him in our arms, he stayed there, trembling with fear, and at the same time being safe and happy for the first time in his life.

He came with us to Athens, completed his vaccination, grew up and grew blonde, and grew even more and more, until he became unrecognizable.

It is a tall, thin and beautiful dog, sometimes still reminiscent of the scared puppy we first met and sometimes not at all.

He hasn't learned much from the outside world because he grew up in the shelter. Ways of communicating with people has some and few - "I do not trust you so much, if you have food, I approach you and trust you more than before".

He likes to walk around the estate, and enjoys human company as he knows and has learned.

He will need time to trust and learn some things that will help him adjust to everyday life, and to a home with a family.
